You do not have exclusive access to the database at this time

Issue:
 When starting a Carmen session you are presented with error messages that tell you that you don't have exclusive access to the database at this time.


This message will appear several times then Carmen will open but will not operate properly.
Cause:
 If you have Adobe Acrobat version 7 installed, the feature PDFmaker is attempting to add icons to the Carmen menu. Carmen does not allow outside application to modify it's interface.
Resolution:
 Turn off the option in PDFmaker to add icons to Access applications. To do this, open the Control Panel and click "Add/Remove Programs". Select Adobe Acrobat 7 and click the "Change/Remove" button. Select to modify the installation. Under "Create PDF" expand the PDFMaker group. Deslect the option for the Access add-in.
